Using a conventional power drill, you can make a universal desktop machine, which is useful for various metal work (in principle, you can also process wooden workpieces).

By installing a metal brush on the drill, it is possible to clean corners, plates, profiles, and other products of "black" rolled metal from rust. If you put a Velcro nozzle for grinding work, you can process workpieces made of metal and wood. In general, homemade work is useful, it will come in handy for many masters.

The main stages of work

To make a universal machine for metalworking, profile sections of 25x25 mm and 30x30 mm will be required, as well as sheet metal trimmings and bolts with nuts. Four sections (two long, two short) are cut from a profile pipe of square cross section 25x25 mm and two L-shaped parts are welded.

Then from the 30x30 mm profile we cut off two small segments, one of the ends of which we saw off at an angle of 45 degrees. The resulting parts will be used as guides into which the L-shaped parts will move. Additionally, in the guide profiles, one hole must be drilled and a nut welded under the fixing bolt.

So that you can quickly fix the guides on the table, we weld steel plates to them on the side, in which you first need to drill two holes for screws. An electric drill mount is welded on top of the guides, made of strip sections, a piece of profile pipe and an outer bearing race cut in half.

Last of all, a piece of sheet metal is welded to the vertical posts, which acts as a supporting platform for the workpieces. The detailed process of manufacturing the machine, see the video on the site.
