In some situations, it is convenient to use an electric bit for processing workpieces made of wood or plywood. You can make this tool from a power drill and an old metal file.
To make this device, you will need an electric drill, a piece of steel round pipe, a round billet of wood (for example, you can use a thick branch), a file for metal, a spring, hardware.
Cut off a piece of pipe of the desired length. The inner diameter should be the same as the outer diameter of the neck of the electric drill.
At the end of the pipe, the master makes a clamp so that you can securely fix it. It is necessary to weld two nuts and make two cuts with a grinder.
The main stages of work
Next, the surface of the pipe must be cleaned from rust. Then the master cuts a piece of wooden round timber that is suitable for length and cuts it into two identical parts. In each half, you need to make small grooves under the file.
The file itself will need to be sharpened by making a preliminary cutting edge as on a chisel. A spring is put on the shank, and then a washer that needs to be welded to the “tail”.
Then you need to drill a blind hole in the cap of the bolt and press a metal ball into it. It should turn out, as in the photo below.
At the last stage, it will be necessary to assemble the device: this is done very simply. A bolt with a ball is clamped in the drill chuck, then a piece of pipe with a clamp is put on, and the rest of the homemade product is already inserted into it.
