In this review, the author shares the idea of how to make a universal handle for files and other hand tools with your own hands. This will require an anchor (anchor bolt).
First of all, the anchor must be disassembled - only a metal core (bolt) is required for the handle. We fix it in a vice, make markup and put a mark on the punch.
After that, a hole will need to be drilled in the marked area. To do this, we clamp in a vice a drill for metal of the desired diameter, fix the bolt in the chuck of a screwdriver and drill.
The main stages of work
At the next stage, using a hacksaw for metal in a bolt, you need to make two longitudinal cuts crosswise. A needle file shank will be inserted into this hole.
Next, two pieces of steel tube are required. A nut must be welded to one of them, and then turned. We put a tube on the anchor, and then wind the second tube with a nut.
The result is a simple, but durable handle for files, which can be done in literally an hour from improvised materials.
