Furniture design is not only the art of creating a beautiful appearance. Ergonomics, convenience, and facilitating life are also important here.

In this review, the author proposes to make a do-it-yourself simple sliding table on wheels, which can be placed next to the bed.

It will be pleasant to have breakfast, watch a movie or even work without getting out of bed. In general, a convenient and practical piece of home furniture.

The main stages of work

To make a bedside table, square pipes with a cross section of about 3 cm will be required. Decide on the dimensions of the future table.

With a grinder, cut the pipe and weld the individual parts together. For rigidity, add additional jumpers.

The frame elements, welded obliquely and taking on the weight, will allow you to lean on the countertop without worry.

Depending on the thickness of the pipes, the size of the future table and what kind of loads are expected on it, you can make the design easier or more complicated.

When the base is ready, mark the wheel mounting locations. Drill holes and then proceed to painting.

Any paint for metal is suitable for you. Matte or glossy, dark or bright, in a jar or spray can - it all depends on the style of the room and your convenience.

For countertops, you can use plywood, particleboard, furniture board or ordinary wood. The main thing is that it be light and strong enough.

Paint or stain should also be resistant so that the coating is durable and wear-resistant.

Now it remains only to collect all the details. Weld the corners for attaching the countertop to the frame and fasten it with short screws.

It is important to pre-drill holes in it so that plywood or wood does not crack. Now you can put the table on the wheels and you're done.

Such an ergonomic piece of furniture will appeal to all households. And it’s not difficult to create it, if you try a little.
