In this review, the author decided to make a soft pouf out of a car tire. A very unusual idea, but it has the right to life.
Such an original and practical piece of furniture can be used both in the country and in the house. The pouf looks very stylish.
The main material for making ottoman is a rubber tire from a passenger car (you can use old and bald tires).
Also required: leather or dermatin, plywood, foam as a filler and furniture legs.
The main stages of work
The first thing to do is wash the car tire thoroughly with a cleaning agent and dry it in the sun or with compressed air.
The author cuts two circles with a diameter of 47 cm from a plywood sheet. The edge of the blanks will need to be sanded so that it is smooth and without burrs.
At the next stage, we paste a piece of foam rubber with a width of 10 cm onto the tire. After that, glue the tire with a piece of foam rubber with a width of 30 cm.
Next, cut a piece of foam rubber along the diameter of the seat of the pouf and glue it to the plywood. We fit the seat with genuine leather or dermatin.
After that we tighten the leatherette and the tire itself. The second piece of plywood is the bottom of the puff. It will be necessary to drill holes for air in it.
We tighten the bottom of the pouffe with a cloth, then install it on our "seat" and fasten it to the screws so that it does not fall off.
At the last stage, we fasten the furniture legs (in total three pieces are required).
