To hide the unsightly cross of a Christmas tree as a child, we used cotton wool. Then they wrapped a piece of cloth around it and now, finally, I had the opportunity to sew a real skirt on a Christmas tree. Or rather, a cloak on the base of the tree. I sewed a skirt from caps (in the absence of not loose fabric). The beauty of such tailoring is that the edge of the fabric does not crumble, the snow-white edging is already sewn and it remains only to add decor elements. As a decor, I chose a Christmas plant with bright red flowers - poinsettia. If you are too lazy to sew flowers, you can use pompons from caps or purchased snowflakes.
1. For a cape I needed:

Caps - 5 pcs.
Threads of red and white.
Scissors.
Centimeter or ruler.

2. For the cape itself, only 4 caps are needed. We start with them - cut off the corners with pompons. If you will fasten the skirt right around the trunk of the Christmas tree, then you need to cut off only the very tip of the cap - 1 cm. If you have a bucket or stand, then measure its diameter, in order to avoid a too wide or small cutout of the cape.

3. Unzip one side seam.
4. We connect together 4 parts of the cape. Remember to leave one seam open.
5. From the white edging, the fifth in a row cap, you need to make blanks for flowers. For each poinsettia, 3 blanks are required. The total number of flowers on the cape is 7 pieces. A total of 21 parts. The length of the white edging is 60 cm. Using simple mathematical calculations, we get the width of each petal - 2.8 cm.
6. From the rectangles, cut out the pointed double-sided petals. It is convenient to cut several blanks at once.

7. Each petal must be folded as shown in the photograph.
8. The bend is bent in the middle and stitched with a needle.
9. Add the second part in the shape of a petal.
10. And the last third blank in place.
11. To complete the work, return the needle to the place where we started to sew the flower. Tighten stronger and fix, but do not break the thread!

12. Immediately sew the flower onto the wrap under the Christmas tree.
13. Here is the flower of poinsettia took its place.
14. It remains to make the remaining flowers and fix them on a cape on the cross of the Christmas tree.
15. From the red fabric of the fifth cap, cut narrow strips and sew on both sides of the open seam. We get the tie for fixing the skirt on the base of the tree.
16. Well, the cloak with snow-white flowers took its place.
17. It seemed to me that there were not enough flowers, and I added another red poinsettia over the white hem of the skirt. In my opinion, it turned out to be too much, but I did not begin to correct it. New Year's Eve, which means that this year such a motley skirt with poinsettia flowers will hide the cross of the Christmas tree.
